Slug 3 follows a tried-and-true formula of side-scrolling
action, combining elements of shooting, platforming, and
vehicle-based combat. The player assumes the role of a brave
soldier in a battle against an evil organization. The game is
divided into multiple missions, each set in diverse environments
ranging from jungles and deserts to underwater bases and even
outer space.
The player's primary objective is to advance
through each mission by defeating enemy forces and reaching the
end while facing various challenges. Along the way, players
encounter a plethora of enemies, ranging from foot soldiers and
tanks to helicopters and colossal bosses. The game offers a
variety of weapons and power-ups that can be obtained by freeing
hostages or discovering secret areas, enhancing the player's
ability to deal with different enemy types.
One of the
unique aspects of Metal Slug 3 is the inclusion of different
playable characters, each with distinct attributes and special
attacks. Players can choose a character at the start of the
game, each offering a slightly different gameplay experience,
adding an element of strategy and variety to each
playthrough.
Metal Slug 3 is also renowned for its iconic
vehicles, such as the titular "Metal Slug" tank. These vehicles
not only provide enhanced firepower but also add a layer of
strategic depth to the gameplay. Players can commandeer various
vehicles they encounter during missions, ranging from tanks and
helicopters to submarines and mechanical walkers. The vehicles
offer different attack patterns and defenses, contributing to
the game's dynamic combat scenarios.
One of the defining
features of Metal Slug 3 is its cooperative multiplayer mode.
The game allows two players to team up and tackle the missions
together, fostering teamwork and enhancing the overall
experience. Cooperative play adds an extra layer of excitement
as players strategize, coordinate attacks, and assist each other
in overcoming the game's challenges.

art graphics are a feast for the eyes, with detailed and
expressive character designs, intricate backgrounds, and
impressive animations. The visuals capture a retro aesthetic
that pays homage to classic arcade games while maintaining a
unique and captivating visual style. The game's soundtrack
complements the action-packed gameplay with energetic tunes that

Wanted to give this game 5 stars but it has terrible controls ...... But what can we expect from DOTEMU, I don't know why SNK hired this company to emulate their games on iOS ...... All of these beloved SNK games have terrible controls on the iOS port and Bluetooth multiplayer doesn't work.

Has always been my favorite game in the entire Alloy Slugs series. I played this game many years ago in the arcade and on Xbox Live. I've always loved the detailed and fluid character animations and backgrounds, and of course the fun and action-packed gameplay.

Other than a few minor details, this is a very good port. The biggest downside is using the touch controls on your phone. Unless you have a bigger phone or iPad, playing this game can be a bit of a pain.
